About the Opportunity Council is seeking to increase casual pool of relief drivers for our garbage and clean up collection services. You will be responsible for duties that include:

collecting unwanted residential and commercial waste utilising manual and mechanical aids maintaining daily checklists/run sheets delivering and repairing mobile bins as required following to Council’s policies and procedures, and promoting a positive image of Council.

You will be required to carry out these duties in accordance with the New South Wales Work Health and Safety Act 2011, Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011, Chain of Responsibility legislation Council’s Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Management System to ensure a safe place of work. Qualifications and Experience Essential:

Well-developed communication skills Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment Demonstrated commitment to customer service  Current HR Drivers Licence.

Desirable:

Previous experience in waste management collection and/or removal or similar field Availability to work flexible hours Demonstrated ability to use relevant technology.

Remuneration and Benefits The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

This position has been validated at Grade 5 in Council's Salary System with an hourly rate starting at $28.3474 plus 25% casual loading and penalty rates apply for weekend shifts/  Employee benefits such as 9.5% employer superannuation contribution payable to the Local Government Superannuation Scheme, Fitness Passport and gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
