An opportunity exists for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Narrabri underground coal team.
Reporting to the Manager of Electrical Engineering you will be responsible for assisting with:Ensuring all site electrical equipment delivers the highest level of safety and performance in compliance with all relevant regulations, codes and standards Ensuring all electrical project work is performed in a safe and efficient manner across the site Formulating and implementing site electrical standards, systems and procedures to achieve company objectives Provide technical engineering support and coordination for capital projects, equipment upgrades and major equipment overhaul Drive operational improvement through analysis of plant performance and subsequent maintenance and equipment reliability activities Ensure equipment, engineering standards and technical solutions add value to the business and meet relevant statutory or regulatory requirements Assist in the budget process for operations and capital works Ensuring adequate contingency planning is available to maintain long term business continuity Leading the development of site’s long-term maintenance strategy Coordination of electrical contracts and contractors and project management About You or Skills / Experience
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications, experience and qualities:A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering A certificate of competency for a NSW Mine Electrical Engineer Previous experience managing repair and maintenance of underground coal mining equipment Previous experience with computer managed maintenance systems for underground mining equipment, preferably Pulse Demonstrable knowledge and skill with explosion protection (EEHA) and High Voltage (Safe Work Practices) Demonstrated leadership in a multi-functional work team environment Demonstrated positive verbal and written communications Demonstrated time management skills
