Senior Mine Planning Engineer
FIFO Ex: Perth 4 days on/3 days off roster
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our Solomon Operations Planning team. Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Planning, this role is responsible for overseeing the detailed mine design work and short-term production scheduling associated with the delivery of the 3-month mine plan to set standards in a timely manner.
Key accountabilities will include:Supporting the 3-month planning team to deliver mine physicals, product tonnes and grades while meeting the 2-year quarterly plan mine sequence Leading the mine design team to provide timely and effective pit. dump and haul road designs in compliance with all design standards Reconciliation of 3-month mine plan against other planning horizons Engagement and effective communication of the 3-month mine plan and development activities with business stakeholders including short term planning, development, mining operations, geology, geotechnical, water management and medium and long term planning
Qualifications and skills required:Experienced mining engineer with extensive planning and design experience Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or similar Ability to work in a collaborative manner and excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical detail to a variety of stakeholders Practical approach to engineering and design problems Knowledge in open pit mining preferably in bulk commodities - Iron Ore Short to medium term planning and scheduling and mine design knowledge Computer proficiency (Vulcan, Alastri, Excel, MS Office) Strong analytical skills with attention to detail Team orientated and strong ability to implement initiatives
